Come join me for a wonder-full immersion in art, nature and delicious food in Sicily!

We will be staying at Crocevallone Agrihotel, a lovely family-run hotel nestled in the country near mount Etna, very well connected to local attractions and urban life.

We will have full use of the structure, including access to 3 outdoor swimming pools, a heated indoor pool and sauna, a restaurant (serving lunch and dinner), and a kiosk/bar for coffees/drinks during the day.

We will be painting in a very well lit and ventilated hall. There are also fantastic opportunities for plein-air painting either in the ample terrace overlooking the valley under mount Etna, or in the surrounding countryside.

In the studio, we will review the fundamentals of realist portraiture / figure painting (from anatomy to mixing skin tones) and have a go with creating mixed media/abstract backgrounds to complement our figurative work. I will be running demos and provide reading and reference sources to start creating. Critiques will be provided throughout on participants’ work. Suitable for all levels although experience of portrait/figurative painting is recomended. Teaching will be tailored to each one’s skill level. For those who wish, we’ll also have a go with plein-air painting, both the surrounding mediterranean landscape and urban sketching. In total, count on between 30 to 40 hours painting time with tuition!

We will go one day to visit the wonderful city of Taormina and/or one day to Siracusa/Ortigia .

workshop: 4 full-days, 9 am till dusk! (35+ hours tuition, including plenty of one-to-one sessions where I'll review / discuss your personal practice)
return transfers from Catania airport to the venue (extra charges apply for different locations/ days outside the retreat duration)
accomodation (7 nights)
main meals at the hotel (breakfast, lunch, dinner) during the 4-days of the workshop (Monday / Tuesday / Thursday / Friday)
